A boil water advisory has been implemented in St. Stephen due to a water main break.
The town shared the notification on its Alertable app on Tuesday.
“Due to a water main break, the drinking water in the Municipal District of St. Stephen (MDSS) may be unsafe to drink and could cause serious illness in isolated areas only,” the alert said.
It impacts mainly 30 Church Street, and 1 through 25 Spring Street.
“All water prepared for drinking, preparing infant formulas, juices and making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking or dental hygiene should be held at a roil boil for one minute,” the alert said.
Infants and toddlers should be sponge-bathed and caregivers need to ensure no bath water is swallowed.
The alert remains in effect but could end on Friday, according to the Alertable app.
