Two arrested, drugs seized from vehicle in Oak Bay

Two men from Campobello Island are facing charges following an RCMP check stop in Oak Bay.

On August 9, the RCMP pulled over a vehicle on Highway 170.

The 24-year-old driver was found to be prohibited from being behind the wheel.

He was arrested but later released.

A 32-year-old passenger was also arrested for failing to comply with the conditions of a release order and tampering with an ankle device.

After the arrests, officers searched the vehicle and seized quantities of what was believed to be meth.

The 32-year-old appeared in court the following day and was sentenced to 30 days in custody.
