The St. Stephen RCMP is asking for the public’s help to identify a man following the theft of copper in the community.
RCMP said in a release on July 7 at 4:30 p.m. the police were called to a report of copper theft that occurred at a business on King Street.
“A man approached the exterior of the business, proceeded to cut copper wire lines, before leaving the scene with the copper,” the release said. “Police are now releasing a surveillance photo in hopes that someone may recognize him.”
RCMP said in a release that the man is in his 50s, tall with a slim build.
“At the time of the theft, he was wearing a long-sleeved grey shirt, blue jeans and a … baseball cap,” the release said.
Anyone who recognizes the man or who has information that could help further the investigation is asked to contact the St. Stephen RCMP at 506-466-7030.
