Mounties say they have seized suspected methamphetamine after a traffic stop in St. Stephen.
RCMP officers saw suspicious activity near King Street and Hamilton Lane around 5:10 p.m. Sunday.
“A man was seen approaching a parked vehicle, engaging briefly with the driver, and then walking away,” RCMP said in a news release on Friday.
Believing it was a hand-to-hand drug deal, officers spotted the vehicle at a nearby gas station and stopped it as it was leaving.
A 53-year-old man was found to be driving with a suspended licence. He was arrested and later released, and the vehicle was towed.
Police later searched the vehicle and found about 20 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, as well as cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
