Eastern Charlotte Night Market kicks off at Riverside Park Pavilion

A new evening market is lighting up the early evening hours in Eastern Charlotte this Friday as the area’s small-business community takes the stage. The inaugural “night market”,  co-organized by Jordan Holmes, will be held at the pavilion in Riverside Park (35 Riverview Ave., St. George) on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Holmes, who is spearheading the event, describes it as “an opportunity for small-business owners to earn some income and to give the community something to do, especially something to do at night.” In a brief interview with The Courier while he was still setting up, Holmes said the market features vendors offering locally‐made goods including wood-crafts, sewing and knitting, baked goods and hot food. He pointed out that one of the food vendors will be finishing out their season with this event.

“We’ve got a few vendors doing woodcraft, we’ve got a few people doing knitting, sewing … we have a couple of vendors offering food, some hot food and some oven-baked bread, treats that kind of thing. The Salty Fisher, for example, they’re finishing out their last day of the season with us ,” he said.

Holmes said this is the first official version of the market in the community. He emphasized the dual goal: giving residents a new evening gathering spot, and supporting the small-business sector.

The event opens at 4 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. providing five hours of browsing, mingling and shopping under the early-evening atmosphere.

Holmes said he hopes the market will create momentum for future editions, becoming a recurring feature that supports local makers, artisans and food vendors.
