County Moose to kick off busy weekend in junior hockey

The County Moose kick off a busy week of National Collegiate Development Conference (NCDC) action starting on Wednesday at home as they face off against the Thunder Hockey Club.

The two clubs squared off last week, giving fans an exciting game that saw the County Moose fall 5-4 in a shootout. The Thunder Hockey Club sits second in the Northeast Division with a 4-3-0-0 record.

The Moose will then hit the road to the River Valley Civic Center in Perth-Andover on Friday to take on the Bear Cats in the first of a back-to-back. County Moose fans may remember the last meeting very well between the Moose and Bear Cats as the Moose put up 10 goals in a 10-1 win at the Garcelon Civic Centre earlier in the campaign. The Bear Cats sit at the bottom of the Northeast Division with a 1-3-0-0 record.

Finally, on Saturday, the Moose will finish up their back-to-back at home as they host the Woodstock Warriors. The Warriors are off to a great start as they are currently 6-0-0-0 and sit first in the Northeast Division. The Warriors are 2-0 against the Moose this year, as the team hopes to hand the Warriors their first loss of the season.

The County Moose are 3-4-0-1 in the 2026-27 NCDC season with seven points, 4th in the Northeast Divison and 31st overall in the NCDC.

Markham, Ont.’s Hayden Anderson continues his strong start to the year as he is the team’s current assist leader with 10 assists, and 11 points in eight games played to start the season (one goal, 10 assists).
