Boil water advisory issued for Blacks and Beaver Habour

The community of Blacks Harbour and Beaver Harbour is under a boil water advisory, according to the municipality.

Chief Administrative Officer Jason Gaudet said the boil water advisory is a result of repairs done on the water transmission line.

The repairs were done late last night, he explained.

He said two consecutive clean water samples, no less than 16 hours apart, are required by the Department of Health to lift the advisory, which could take up to two or three days.

Those who use well as their main source of water are not impacted.

Anyone under a boil water advisory must bring water used for consumption, including brushing teeth, and food preparation to a rolling boil for one minute.

It is safe to use for bathing and swimming, as well as washing dishes, including in the dishwasher.
