The bridge at the St. Stephen-Calais border crossing off Milltown Boulevard is set to close for repairs for about six weeks.
During the closure, travellers are asked to use alternative crossings.
- Milltown Crossing: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. AST.
- St. Stephen 3rd Bridge Crossing: 24 hours.
On Friday, the City of Calais shared a notice by the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT).
“The project work includes deck rehabilitation and bridge joint repair on the Maine side of the international border crossing,” the release said. “Work is expected to be completed by the end of November.”
Travellers should expect delays, plan extra travel time and follow all posted signs and directions in the work area.
