23-year-old Bayside man sentenced two years on drug charges

A 23-year-old man from Bayside has received a total sentence of a little more than two years in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.

St. Stephen RCMP said Miles Burton Johnson Jr was charged with three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage of firearms and failure to comply with a release order.

“On November 27, 2025, at approximately 2:05 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Highway 127 in Bayside in connection with an investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs,” a release from the RCMP said. “During the search, police seized ammunition, drugs, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. A then-22-year-old man from Bayside was arrested at the scene without incident.”

Johnson Jr. has also been ordered to submit a DNA sample. He will be required, according to police, to forfeit all the items seized during the police investigation and a 10-year firearms ban.

“I am extremely proud of the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by our frontline members throughout this investigation,” Sgt. Pierre Ladouceur, of the St. Stephen RCMP, said in the release. “Their commitment to public safety, often while working demanding hours, reflects the high standard of service they provide to our communities every day. This outcome highlights the impact of their efforts and the importance of their work.”

The St. Stephen RCMP said in the release it “remains committed to addressing illegal drug activity and enhancing community safety through proactive enforcement and strong investigative work.”
