1. What is your vision for the municipality over the next four years, and how will you measure success?

Careful land use planning which respects heritage and balances population density and privacy. Unification of three distinct areas of our new community.

2. How will you balance fiscal responsibility with maintaining and improving municipal services?

Hold the province accountable for the promise to reform the property tax system, with greater local government say and share of revenue.  We will review our current assets Management Plan to insure priorities are correct . Council will spend only where we have to meet the identified priorities.

3. What is your strategy for long-term infrastructure planning and funding?

Look for savings through partnerships and collaboration with the Province Of New Brunswick , Government Of Canada and other regional local governments.

4. Many communities in the region are experiencing population changes, including aging populations, affordability issues, homelessness. How will your leadership address workforce retention and attract new residents?

Work force retention is an employer issue which should be a priority for the Chamber Of Commerce. Strategies to diversify housing can help. Attracting new residents to Saint Andrews is an extension to bringing more visitors.

5. Describe a difficult decision you’ve made in a leadership role. How will that experience inform your approach as mayor?

During a long work career as both a supervisor and owner operator often disciplinary choices had to be made . Because of the extended effects of giving a layoff on the individual worker and the family and co workers these decisions presented the most difficulty.

6. Why should voters trust you to lead the municipality at this time?

Trusting  to lead will be demonstrated by listening to our citizens and their ideas. Gaining and keeping public trust is the essence of governance.

Each candidate was provided with the same six questions and equal limits on response length and time. Candidates who did not have publicly available contact information through Elections New Brunswick were required to contact The Courier in accordance with its Municipal Election Coverage Fairness Policy.
