UPDATED: Water main break in St. Stephen causes boil water advisory

A water main break on Kings Court has put the area under a boil water advisory, according to the Municipal District of St. Stephen (MDSS).

It forced the early dismissal of school at St. Stephen elementary on Tuesday around 1:30 p.m, which is included under the boil water advisory.

“Due to a water main break, the municipal water on Kings Court in MDSS may be unsafe to drink and could cause serious illness,” according to a message from Alertable.

Roads in the immediate area of Kings Court were closed, which has several businesses including Carmen’s diner and Stationary Plus.

All water that could be consumed for drinking, food preparation, brushing teeth or baby bottles should brought to a hard boil for at least one minute.
