A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to five years in federal prison in connection to a crime spree in Charlotte County, according to a release from the New Brunswick RCMP.
Police said Joshua Gibson – who it called a “prolific offender” – was charged with 27 offences, including break and enter, theft, possession of property obtained by crime, discharging a firearm with intent, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and assaulting a police officer.
All of the offences were committed in areas like Little Ridge, St. Stephen, Tower Hill, Oak Bay, Beaver Harbour, Utopia, and other surrounding areas over a 16-month period.
Police originally made the arrests of two men in October 2023, according to a release.
At the time, Gibson was one of those men and was wanted on warrants for five warrants of arrest in relation to charges for theft under $5000, three break and enters, mischief under $5000 and failure to appear in court.
